I'm only 14 mile from Elgin and mspenz is much closer I believe.

Just up the road is Nairn. I usually have an overnighter or 2 here a few times a year as it's near to a lot of routes I use. Nice town, good pubs and eateries.

I'm midway between Elgin and Forres; regarding some of the comments appearing here; I have had many a night out in Elgin and indeed will be out there again this weekend and have never felt unsafe. Would be interested to hear as to why some here would feel that way.
